What to do now
- Do not tap any link and do not reply to the message.
- Never give codes, passwords or card details, even if the sender seems trustworthy.
- If you think it could be real, contact your bank or the company yourself. Use the number on your card or their official app, never the details in the message.
- In Spain, call 017 (INCIBE). In other countries, contact your bank and your local police or consumer protection office.
- Delete the message or report it as spam in your app.
Almost all scams use the same tricks: rush, fear, authority, the wish to win something, or a secret. If you know the trick, you know the scam, even when it changes its disguise.
